PROJECT SCOPE

We were asked to undertake a full Building survey to produce Floor plans, Elevations, Sections & full Revit models. The buildings in question were busy commercial premises & access was only available in working hours, so all work was carried out using a Faro Laser Scanner to reduce site time and cause little disruption.

OUR SOLUTION

• Survey carried out using high precision Faro Scanner.
• Minimal interference using scanner to get all the information we required.
• Revit models created using the Point cloud data gathered on site.
• Full detail added to model including ceiling plans & lighting.
• Able to produce 2d CAD floor plans, ceiling plans, sections & elevations from Revit model.

PROJECT SCOPE

We were asked to undertake a full Topographical survey to the main 2 storey car park and surrounding roads around The mercury shopping centre. The car park areas were busy so a lot of the work was carried out, out of hours to avoid too much disruption and GPS was used on the open areas to speed up survey time.

OUR SOLUTION

• Survey carried out using Leica GPS & Total station.
• GPS was used on a large area of the works where possible.
• Total station was used on the under cover car park & to gather the areas where GPS was able to be used.
• Site Control around external area of workshop.
• Topographical survey showing levels, kerbs, drainage, street furniture, buildings, boundaries & car park bays.

PROJECT SCOPE

The building in question was a busy workshop so the client required as little disruption as possible & for all site works to be carried out in one day so we used a Leica P40 Scanner to greatly reduce site time.

• Site Control around external area of workshop.
• Internal Floorplans carried out included walls, windows, doors, beams, columns, fixtures & sanitary ware.
• Cross sections required through building.
• External Elevations including building lines, roof lines, signage, windows, doors & architectural detail.
• Topographical survey externally showing levels, drainage & street furniture.

Measured building survey of former community learning centre.

The front side of the building being listed with newer extension to the rear.

PROJECT SCOPE

This well known retail store is one of the largest units at Highcross Shopping Centre covering 4 floors (20,000sq.m).

ACAD Design & Surveys were commissioned to carry out a survey of the building to include floor plans, elevations, cross sections & a topographical survey. The client wanted this service undertaken with minimal disruption, due to confidentiality issues and all within store opening times.

• Site control established inside & out.
• Works carried out during the day and out of hours where necessary.
• Internal survey carried out included walls, windows, doors, beams, columns, fixtures & sanitary ware, shop-fit etc.

• Topographical survey of mall areas & back of house areas showing level changes.
• Topographical survey of rooftop car park including all levels, drainage, lighting, plant equipment & car parking bays.

Two former mills in Ardwick, Manchester covering 8,000sq.m.

ACAD Design & Surveys were commissioned to carry out a survey of the building to include floor plans, elevations, cross sections & a topographical survey.

• Survey carried out using high precision total station and specialist MBS software.
• Site control established inside & out.
• In areas where mills where dilapidated and access difficult reflector less total stations were used.
• Strict health & safety procedures to ensure safety of surveyors.

PROJECT SCOPE

Lancaster University approached us with a view to carry out a project on Forrest Hills leisure and wedding facility.

There was a number of elements to the project ranging from small barns which required floor plans to a unique wedding venue that required a full measured survey including elevations.

A Topographical survey was then required to give the client a detailed survey of all the building locations & surrounding area including the main access road.​

OUR SOLUTION

• Survey carried out on all outbuildings using specialist MBS software.
• Measured building survey carried out on Old Farmhouse using high precision total station and specialist MBS software to produce floor plans and elevations.
• Wedding venue floor plans were produced using high precision total station due to the unique shape of the building.
• External Topographical survey showing levels, building lines, kerbs, change of surfaces, drainage & street furniture, lakes, golf course, access roadways etc.
